Memphis STAR Academy Charter School Enrollment

Dear Prospective Family,

 

Thank you for your interest in STAR Academy! We understand that selecting the right school for your child during school enrolment season is an extremely important decision. We are delighted that you are considering STAR! The Admissions Team, which consists of Board Members and staff, will serve as a resource for you as you evaluate whether STAR Academy is a good fit for your family.

 

Families are drawn to STAR for several key reasons. We have small class sizes that are limited to sixteen students, fostering wonderful interaction between children and teachers. Parents looking for a place where their children will be loved and challenged rather than getting lost in the crowd will be pleased with the culture of STAR Academy.

 

Many parents desire consistency between home and the classroom. They appreciate the way that teachers both encourage and exhort their students. They sense the balance between high standards and student morale. All children at STAR participate in classroom life and are challenged to grow both intellectually and professionally.

 

The academic program and classroom environment at STAR is rich and rigorous. Enrolled students are engaged every day in a broad number of subject areas. They interact with great books and materials. Through training in habits of mind and attention, STAR students are equipped with the tools they need for a lifetime of learning and service.

STAR Academy is a tuition-free, admissions criteria-free, public charter school. We are pleased that you are considering applying to STAR Academy to help secure your student's path to the future and to success in the global world.  Below we have listed the application process steps:

*Note: Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If we receive more applications than slots, an enrollment lottery will be conducted in compliance with the Tennessee Public Charter Law. TCA 49-13-113. There is no better way to discover if STAR Academy is right for you than to visit us. Our evolving and family-oriented campus is located 10 minutes north of downtown Memphis. Tours are offered by appointment Monday–Friday and designated Saturdays throughout the year (in the form of Open Houses) with the exception of federal holidays, state exam period, and promotion days.
