Our Hiring Philosophy
STAR educators are passionate and creative, inspiring a love of learning in students every day. STAR educators are fully trained and certified in First Aid, CPR, & AED. With over 300 applications annually, we are fortunate to hire some of the best educators from across the Mid-South.
How we Hire our Educators
Through a rigorous hiring process, we evaluate educators in six main categories that align with our approach. The STAR educator:
Listens to and appreciates each student as an individual
Fosters social-emotional skills through every activity and assignment
Uses academic standards to provide a rigorous, well-rounded education
Creates hands-on learning experiences through projects and the community
Partners with parents to best support their children
Uses technology to enhance in-person learning, not replace it
How Educators are Empowered to be their Best
Once we hire exceptional educators, we empower them. Educators are supported by:
Technology and a support team that enables them to spend more time with each student, and less time on clerical tasks
1:1 partnerships with members of our Leadership Team to develop instructional and management strategies to enhance school culture
A generous annual stipend for professional development
The flexibility to create meaningful experiences for their students
A community with a rich variety of experiences to draw from and share best practices

STAR Academy Charter School Educators
What Are Charter Schools?
Charter schools are a form of public education that offers tuition-free learning. Since charter schools are public, we accept a wide variety of local school students, giving them an equal chance at a quality education.
What Grade Levels Do You Teach?
STAR Academy teaches kindergarten through sixth grade. In essence, charter school teachers will focus on the elementary level school years to better prepare younger students for their future. This makes it a great school for teachers that focused on Elementary Education during their time at college and those that want to work their way towards teaching high school.
How Do I Apply?
Our school follows the standard application process that you will see in other parts of the United States. This involves sending in your cover letter and resume to show your credentials and experience. From here, we will contact you about interviews and job openings.
STAR Academy is an excellent option when you consider the school serving size and the public school systems available. If you're looking for a school that works alongside the Department of Education, then you should look into STAR Academy.
